The first weekend of October is stacked, Kelowna. Here's what's on.

Friday night brings live bluegrass: RCA Presents John Reischman and the Jaybirds, with special guest Mickey Reeves, at 7:30 p.m. at the Rotary Centre for the Arts on Cawston Avenue.

Also Friday: Maiden Vancouver and Master of Justice at the OK Corral Cabaret at 8:30 p.m., and QUEERDO: Snatch Game of Haunt at the Unicorn Lounge at 9 p.m.

Saturday's headline show is RUMOURS: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute, 7:30 p.m. at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

If the tribute act is half as good as the rumour mill says, Saturday night is sorted.

Earlier Saturday, the Built for More Business Growth Summit takes over the Rotary Centre for the Arts from 1 p.m. — a full afternoon for owners who want to grow instead of just survive.

October is a fine time to sharpen the axe before the holidays hit.

Charity gets its day too: the Wild One Run for Youth Mental Health starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at 1881 Hidden Hills Drive, and the second annual YMCA Make a Splash runs from 11 a.m. at the H2O Adventure and Fitness Centre.

For the two-wheeled crowd, the 2026 Cranksgiving Funduro & Enduro rolls out at 8 a.m. Saturday from Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park — mountain biking with a cause.

Sunday slows it down: the na'ʔk'ʷulamən (what we do): syilx Traditional Plant Use Walking Tour departs at 10 a.m. from the Laurel Packinghouse — a rare chance to learn from the land's first stewards.

Sunday wraps with Latin Sunday at Famoso Italian Pizzeria in Sopa Square, 7 p.m.

Support local venues, tip your servers, and if you hit the summit — take one idea home and use it Monday.

Have a good weekend.
