The quick read: The Kelowna Rockets put up their biggest offensive night in nearly four years on Wednesday, hammering the Swift Current Broncos 10-2 at Prospera Place, reports the WHL. Rowan Guest scored twice and eight teammates found the net, while goaltender Harrison Boettiger stopped 13 of 15 shots. The Rockets followed up Saturday with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Pink in the Rink night — still good for a point, and three of four points on the week.

Ten goals.

One statement.

Wednesday night at Prospera Place, the Kelowna Rockets dismantled the Swift Current Broncos 10-2 in their biggest offensive outburst since November 18, 2022, when they beat Spokane 10-3.

Rowan Guest led the way with two goals, opening the scoring at 6:49 of the first period by tapping in a cross-crease feed from Eli Barrett.

Owen Folstrom made it 2-0 just 71 seconds later on a breakaway, and the Rockets never looked back.

The goal parade included Cole Braunshausen — whose partial-breakaway tally stood as the game-winner — plus Dawson Gerwing, first-overall draft pick Madden Daneault, Jaxon Kehrig, Ryan Oothoudt, William Matte and Tomas Poletin.

Kelowna was up 5-1 after the first period and 8-1 after two, per the league scoring summary.

Goaltender Harrison Boettiger turned aside 13 of the 15 shots he faced in a quiet night between the pipes.

Saturday brought a tougher test and a great cause.

On Pink in the Rink night, the Rockets fell 3-2 in overtime to the Brandon Wheat Kings — but banked a point in front of a big crowd.

Two wins would have been sweeter, but three of four points on the week is the kind of haul that builds seasons.

The offence is waking up.

The fans got a show.

Good hockey week in Kelowna.
