Tonight, downtown Kelowna gets a little more beautiful.
Kelowna Artscape opens this evening at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, and if you care about local culture, this is one of the easiest good nights out of the fall.
The show is the Federation of Canadian Artists' Central Okanagan Chapter 2026 Fall Show — a celebration of the region's painters, sculptors, and visual artists under one roof.
Tonight's opening celebration runs from 6 to 9 p.m., with live music, appetizers, and a cash bar.
The awards ceremony is at 6:30.
New this year is an Art Vendor Marketplace, where visitors can meet the artists directly and browse prints, reproductions, cards, and small works.
That's a genuinely welcome addition.
Too much of the art world lives behind gallery glass with prices that say "don't touch."
A marketplace of accessible, take-home work means regular people — not just collectors — can walk out with something made by hand by someone who lives here.
And that matters more than the arts crowd likes to admit: when you buy from a local artist, the money stays in Kelowna, and the artist keeps making art in Kelowna.
Whether you're a collector, an arts supporter, or just curious what the region's artists are creating, tonight is the night to find out.
Head downtown, support local talent, and make an evening of it.
